Rhythm has no pitch, so five lines only get in the way. A single line gives notes somewhere to sit and stems a direction to point, and leaves room to write the counting — "1 e & a" under the beats, or bar numbers above.
Percussion parts for snare drum, woodblock, triangle and other unpitched instruments are written on the same one-line staff, so this doubles as manuscript paper for a single percussion part.
Every sheet here is free, adjustable and prints at exact scale.
Bar lines depend on the time signature, so they are left for you to draw. For evenly spaced beats, turn up Columns behind the staves to rule faint vertical guides.
Set Lines per staff to 2 for a two-part rhythm, such as bass drum and snare. The staves stay evenly spaced down the page.
