Children reverse digits as often as letters — a backwards 3 or 7 is ordinary until about age seven. Tracing gives the hand the right direction of travel before it has to recall it, and a whole row of 0 to 9 practises every stroke the digits use.
Once the sequence is easy, narrow it down. Type only the digits that keep coming out backwards, repeated with spaces — "3 7 9 3 7 9" — and the sheet becomes a targeted drill rather than a general one.

Go up to 18 or 20 mm for ages three and four. Fewer digits then fit on a row, so type 0 to 4 on one sheet and 5 to 9 on another.
