A child's own name is the first word most of them want to write, and usually the first one a preschool or kindergarten asks for. It is also a good teacher: a capital at the start, lower case after it, and letters the child already sees every day.
The sheet opens with the word Name as a placeholder. Replace it in Letters to trace — end it with a space so the copies along each row stay apart — and every row updates. Start with dotted letters, then move to outline and pale tint as the shapes become automatic.

The sheet opens on 20 mm rows, a comfortable size for ages three to five. Drop to 14 mm as control improves, or go up to 25 mm for a very first attempt.
Most schools teach a capital first letter and lower case after it — "Sam" rather than "SAM". Type it the way the child's teacher writes it.
A long name fits fewer copies per row, and one longer than the row is cut off at the edge. Lower the row height until the whole name fits.
